About the Author

Harold Pinter was born in London in 1930. He lived with Antonia Fraser from 1975 and they married in 1980. In 1995 he won the David Cohen British Literature Prize, awarded for a lifetime's achievement in literature. In 1996 he was given the Laurence Olivier Award for a lifetime's achievement in theatre. In 2002 he was made a Companion of Honour for services to literature. In 2006 he was awarded the Europe Theatre Prize and, in 2007, the highest French honour, the Légion d'honneur. He died in December 2008.

I AM QUITE FAMILIAR WITH THE PLAY. I JUST NEEDED AN ADDITIONAL COPY.

His best play.

Saw this play on stage and was underwhelmed because there is no climax, rather it fizzles out like a damp squid. Reading the play is marginally better but the characters are non-descript and the dialogue is dated - I counted 22 'What?' questions and that's without the endless 'What do you mean?' What happened?' What for?' and so on. Harold Pinter appears to wear the emperor's clothes. Criticise him at your peril.Freak Out! My Life with Frank Zappa

Not only do we understand our child much better now, more importantly she understands herself much better and is learning that mental and physical health are interwoven and that she knows what work she has to do to feel good. These conditions are not about food. Every person that suffers from RAPS or IBM should read this book.

I've been land lording for 35 years and let me tell you that this old dog is learning a few new tricks based on Mike's book. Thanks to Mike's book I am automating my management of real estate. I love the use of the technology incorporated with the proven ideas Mike explains form his years of experience. Mikes experience has every situation I've encountered covered. I just wish I would have known this stuff earlier. I get more time to myself and family without the worry. A must read for anyone owning rental real estate.

I really like this book. Besides for the typos, my one complaint is that sometimes he introduces an idea that I would like to know more about, but he skips over it too fast and it feels like an incomplete idea. Overall though, I do like the book. I have been a landlord for several years and rarely get ideas from books. This one has given me some great ideas that I'm excited to implement.

Mike Butler is a self made Landlord. Beginning investors would do well to heed his advise gained through years of profitable Landlording. Mike with his background in law enforcement and familiarity with single family dwellings offers techniques and strategies that are valuable for beginning and experienced investors that may have become lax in paying attention to details that increase profit and enjoyment of being an Entrepreneurial Investor. If you are just beginning and looking for a way to invest in residential real estate without losing your sanity due to management challenges, this is a resource you should have in your educational library.

This book is probably best for beginners. Since my husband and I have been land-lording seven years now, many of the suggestions in the book we already have done, implemented and adjusted for our business.

Great nuts and bolts overview of processes and procedures to ensure you incorporate in your investment business. Skewed toward single family market heavily, but that is his forte and you can use a lot of the experience for multi family investment operations.

Terrible ideas, poorly-written examples, and the worst writing I've ever seen in a real estate book. Buy any other book about being a landlord instead of this one.

This should be the first book anyone looking to become a landlord should read.

Most rental books give you their concepts without giving you a system to follow or how to use the latest technology to simplify your business and to make it more efficient. Mike does a great job of showing you how and explains why he does what he does. There is a reason why this book is on almost every respected real estate investment author/adviser's recommended reading list.

The story here is borderline unbelievable. It will completely maintain your attention and is worth reading. I think everyone who reads will yearn for a bit of adventure and almost wish they could have the opportunity that Phil Champagne had. All of this while thinking Phil Champagne was a complete moron for what he was doing. Tricky and interesting balance. The book is very well written and I enjoyed the style. It had an almost Eric Larsen type feel. The only dissapointment here is that I felt like some things were unresolved by the book- but I think if you read you will understand that they had to be!

With the author's interview skills he gets into the brain of Phil Champagne. Phil lives by a different moral code, where one reasons that money can be literally made without hurting anybody. Phil adores but at the same time mocks the wealthy lifestyle. He reasons that his family is better off without him, thinking no one values him anyway, and shows how easy it is to run away and feel the temporal relief of personal freedom. With his charms, it is easy for him to find female companionship and support. To me, it's a middle-aged man gone wild, with other men and women helping him out, not asking enough questions. Women, to Phil, seem to be necessary but on a lower level, made to be used. One hopes for justice throughout. I give this a five-star rating, though I am more of a fan of the gentility of romance novels.

True Crime can be fun. When that wacky writer Burl barer is at the controls it's like riding a roller coaster with no seat belt. Dressed up in a few of the old one-liners from his old radio shows, the story of Phil Champagne is a real thigh slapper. Phil doesn't know who he wants to be, but he doesn't want to be Phil Champagne anymore. Haven't we all had that feeling from time to time?Phil changes identities faster than a transvestite at a two-for-one dress sale. Just to make it more exciting while reading, you can play the count-the-typos game. It actually is a clever editing device to get you more involved with the story.

I had to go cave and verify that this book is based on a true story. It reads like one of Hunter S. Thompson's fictional tales of crime and debauchery. Every page is full of amusing anecdotes and unexpected revelations.

There was an interesting story in this book, however it was written in such a disjointed and confusing fashion that it was really hard to follow. For sure the title character purposely led a confusing life, but the story really would have been much easier to follow if it was told sequentially instead of jumping around between years and characters.

Fun story to read, but the book needs help. Poor writing, many, many mistakes in spelling and punctuation. Really needs a good proof reader. That being said, the story, when I could make sense of it is amazing

Phil Champagne was truly a character , as much as he tired to be a tough guy, he always seemed to end up on the right side of the law.This was a very different kind of story, it almost sounds like it was made up , and yet was true. He still ended up with his second wife and all turned out well. Truly a story most people will enjoy reading.
