well, the idea is great. Having something so clearly written out and easy to read is awesome. My only problem is that it is outdated, therefore some of the information is outdated and incorrect, which is a big issue.

These charts made learning the basics of Federal Procedure relatively easy. A word of warning, though, these charts may not be sufficient to pass the class, depending on the professor. Nevertheless, they are great if you are lost with the basics.

Saved me on a short-answer question to get the only A in the class. Well worth to just have in the back pocket for open-booked exams for emergencies like I used it for!

It’s alright. But the way they jammed all that information together on the pages makes it a little hard to read.

Matthew 24 is a chapter that has many interpretations depending on the interpreter's/reader's eschatological presuppositions. This author takes the position that all of this chapter has been fulfilled and there is nothing more to consider. It describes the judgement that will fall on Jerusalem and the Temple due to the rejection of Christ as the Messiah. It also happens, because the Temple is now passe as the New Covenant will be inaugurated and mediated in three or so days through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as the vindicated Son of God. The explanations are very clear and is supported by references to other Bible passages and authors. I enjoyed it and it was helpful in tying this chapter to the previous 3 chapters in Matthew. It shows the connectedness of narrative that Matthew is telling to inform us if Jesus' finished work and ministry.

Interesting read. Very informative, eye opening. Would recommend it.

Even though I agree with the author on most of his eschatology I did not like the book to much.I got the electronic version. the organization was somewhat sloppy and haphazard. I wish he could have taken more time to format in a way to make it easier to read. Also he relied to much on English translation for example he dedicated a section on coming on the clouds of heaven when the greek says in heaven.He had some interesting thoughts and good resources with made the book somewhat worth while.

A very good book

I did not agree with the author who takes the preaterist view of the prophecy indicating it all happened when Jerusalem was invaded by the Romans in AD70. Yet much of the prophecy still needs to be fulfilled. I have not seen Jesus coming as the lightning from east to west. I have not seen the dead raised. I have not seen millions of angels coming with Jesus in the clouds of heaven. I could go on and on. Read Mathew 24 and consider whether all this has been fulfilled already?I also do not believe in the 'futurist' view that it will all be fulfilled in the very last days. I think the historico - prophetic interpretation is correct, ie the same signs that led up to the fall of Jerusalem in AD70 will be duplicated as we approach the Return of Jesus.I would say that we are certainly living 'in the days of Noah' today when iniquity abounds!

Rather than complain about the state of culture, Willis actually shows Christians how to do something about it by living together in gospel-centered communities. If just a small percentage of the Church lived this way, the state of American Christianity would be drastically different. I pray that this book makes its way into small groups all over the country. It could very well be a game changer.

I purchased and read T.O.’s book “American Modern” while waiting for this book to arrive. I loved “American Modern”, and even more so this book. In “American Modern” we see his beautiful, highly edited style, including the transition of his urban apartment from a very modern space in the second chapter to a more maximalist style at the end of the book. In this new book, Library House, we see more of his very detailed decorating style and are given the privilege of viewing his wonderful home.In Library House he takes us through a tour of each area of the house, providing all the detailed inspiration for each area. He describes the process in creating a new house that is inspired by old concepts and ideas, and designed to showcase his amazing collections. Chapters include:• Imagining a House• At the Front of the House (A New Old Building, Through the Entrance Hall, Arriving inside)• Alongside the House Next Door (The Side Entrance, Classic and Modern, the Locust Allee)• The Two Front Rooms (his husband’s office and a bedroom, and the bathrooms for each)• The Main Stair Hall• Into the Library (the Library room and each of the sections of the room described in great detail, as well as the screen porch and his own office)• To the Kitchen and Down the Back Stairway (the kitchen and eating area, back stairway, laundry room, and wine room)• Out to the Garden• Back to the Studio• Going Upstairs (bedroom hallway, balcony, sitting room, master bath and bedroom)It is fascinating to read the detailed inspiration for the house and each space, and I found myself frequently flipping to the architectural design plans that are drawn inside the front and back covers to see how each space connects into the others. I also enjoyed flipping back and forth within the beautiful photos to see visually how they all connect. I loved to see his use of color and how he has arranged so many collections without any of it seeming chaotic. Everything looks so perfect together, as if it was simply meant to be.A fantastic book, and such a treat.

I don't think I have read a design or architectural book that is written with such love. It is almost a love letter to the house and to the actual design process as well as to his husband. Each area of the house is so thought out from beginning to end. It was a joy to be let in as a guest. Even the gardens were thought out to such detail and photographed in various seasons which was a joy to see. It is obvious that the house and gardens are loved and enjoyed year round. Thomas O'Brien is extremely talented and he used such good judgment in doing this house and garden for himself and his husband, who also had a hand in designing. I could see myself in the rooms and enjoying a wonderful stay in many seasons.

Another beautiful book from Thomas O'Brien. The Library House looks as if it was built centuries ago and added to through the years. Mr O'Brien has created a sense of history and place in this house, which only a true master can achieve. This book is a fascinating look into his creative process. Every page is filled with inspiration and beauty. I recommend it to anyone who is an admirer of great design.

A truly enjoyable book from one of my favorite American designers. This builds on the section from his earlier book, “American Modern”, that detailed the development of his country home - The Academy. It was fascinating to follow as he expanded that property to create this companion new “old” live/work structure. Really appreciate the level of detail and explanations provided. The photographs are beautiful. Great addition to my design library.

More of his favorite things. Not a book for expanding your creativity. Not about libraries either. Sent it back.

What's not to like? O'Brien is extremely talented. It's a glimpse in his country home.
