I’ve been using the Shorter Christian prayer book for eight months. I’ve wanted to graduate to the single volume Christian prayer. I decided to get the St. Joseph prayers guide so I know where to begin each morning/evening. I just received it today and ready to tackle it for the New Year. I’m happy it is offered on Amazon. I got this for my wife, who wanted to do the daily devotions in the Book of Christian Prayer. I noted to her that it requires a lot of flipping pages to get to the right prayers. I guess I'm not that dedicated to saying the daily devotions, which is exactly the reason I stopped using it.Anyway, after encountering this obstacle, she decided it was too difficult and time consuming, and confusing, to flip back and forth through the book. She has stopped using the guide, and just does the daily Mass readings.A more dedicated person would find this a good value, especially if they like the feel of a book in their hands, since the price is so small.I have found an app that brings up all the daily readings every day, and is very easy to use (and I still don't use it every day). Still if my battery fails, I can pick up the guide and go right into the book for the right prayers.
