I had this book as a teenager and found it very effective for helping me lose weight by making small healthy, lifestyle changes. I sold it several years ago, but ended up buying a copy of it again very recently because it's still very helpful and relevant. I personally never did the walking program prior, but I think this book has a very reasonable approach to weight loss for folks who are intimidated by the gym, but want to start making healthier choices for themselves. You don't need to be a fitness model to be healthy, you can make small changes to improve your health, life and weight.

If you do it... it will work. I lost 15 lbs the first time I used this book but I was die hard dedicated to the diet and training daily. Then gained back a couple years later and this time I was not so dedicated to the daily regiment. If your dedicated, this is the book for you. I lost 2.5 lb every week!

OK people I had this book for a number of years and decided to give it another chance since a few years back I didn't stick to it! (I had a different mindset then and I wasn't practicing my value of health) However, for my new youtube fitness channel, I choose the routine in this book for my second series on "How to get Started on a new Fitness Plan" on http://youtu.be/XuUYzQ1rD88 simply because I had the book. This time I kept an open mind and pushed through! it was quiet simple because I can do the routine just about anywhere. I ensured that I got the exercises in at home if I was going to visit a friend/place that didn't have weights, so not to miss my work out. I have to admit the first 2 days, I thought to myself, "just doing 4 sets of 12 reps of 2 exercises is not going to do anything for me." Boy was I wrong! by day 3 I started to feel the WORKOUT AND VERY MUCH LOOKED forward to doing it!!!! The first week I lost 1lb but more importantly 1/4" around my waist. I'm on day 12 week 2, I didn't start on a Sunday and I don't follow the diet as I follow a diet that is producing results I'm happy with! love the quotes, wake up talk and health tips!!! I highly recommend!

I have previously purchased other books by this author. I like the way he gives background and the reasons why you eat or exercise a certain way. Anyone wishing to get in better shape and or lose weight, this is a great book. Buy the Belly Fat Cure book for some really great recipes and a more detail explanation about sugar and how it creates belly fat. This is a good book as the author does not ask you to do hours of exercise. Just 8 minutes in the morning. It takes me a little longer but I am slowly cutting down my time.

I bought the book because I liked the premise, and I still generally agree with his plan...- do 4 sets of 2 different exercises 6 days a week, for 4 weeks (different exercises for all those days), then begin the exercises again;- keep a journal to stay motivated;- do a food plan where you check off what you eat, but you are not told you CANNOT eat anything - some things are just suggested as being much better; and- do power walking as your aerobic exercise of choice.Overall, this plan is not bad - but I did have some problems with it.- One seems minor; however, if I am going to write in this book, then I like the way Bob Greene did his book with the rings, so it could lie flat, better. That is also more convenient for doing the exercises.- Next, while I did like the food plan, the biggest problem I had with it was the restriction on the amount of fruit I could eat (one serving per day - always!) - but the veggies were much more unlimited (depending on weight, up to 6 servings per day).Overall, it's not a bad plan. However, be aware that while the exercises only take 8 minutes in the morning, when you add the journaling and power walking, you are doing more. For the person just getting started in trying to lose weight, it's not a bad plan; however, if you are only half-hearted in getting started with this plan, it is just as easy as any other plan to skip and cheat on.

This book is great. It gives you a lot of information about muscle use, etc. Even if you don't get a model's body, each day makes you work different muscle groups. There is also a section on weight loss with a practical and healthy approach.

I am in my 22nd week of Jorge's weight training and excercise plan and am many pounds lighter and leaner than I have ever been at my current weight. Using the excercise plan and a modified eating plan, I tend to go higher protien and lower carb, I have taken 40 pounds off my frame and have less than 20 to go to meet my weight loss goal.There isn't any magic to it, that is true, it is a combination of lowered intake and increased energy output, but I am seeing real results for the first time of years of failed dieting and excercise. I have two other friends who are now in the program and am buying a copy for another friend as a gift.

Great book and the program works.
